What It’s Like

What You Can Expect When You Visit

After outgrowing our first rented space, we have recently moved to the First Baptist Church building in Silverton.  Drive up and see that there is plenty of parking. As you enter the building you’ll find friendly people.  If you are a first time visitor, you will receive our visitor packet.  Inside the packet, you will find information about us, ways to get connected, and a free worship CD.  In the lobby, there are resources, books, sign-ups and other information for you to check out.  You’ll probably notice quickly the smell of coffee coming from your left, which is the fireside gathering room.  Please feel free to come in and grab some coffee, tea, hot chocolate or apple cider before the service!
As you enter the sanctuary, you’ll notice music playing and people milling about.  Check out the video screens to see all of the upcoming events, ways to get involved, and the various ongoing ministries!

Our band leads inclusive worship in a pop-rock-gospel style, including songs by a mix or artists such as Vineyard Worship, Jesus Culture, Hillsong, and more – as well as classic songs, and even possibly a hymn from time to time. Opening worship is followed by a few brief announcements highlighting upcoming events. We pray for our children, then take a 5 minute break while parents escort their kids to VINE TIME, our children’s ministry. Parents can check your kids in during this break, then must check them out again after the service has completed.

Following our brief break, one of our pastors shares a message from the Bible that is practical and easy to understand. The messages are accompanied by visual images projected on large screens, including the Biblical references, and images or video clips which help illustrate the ideas. The entire service lasts about 90 minutes.
What Should I Wear?

We say “come as you are” – and because we’re in Oregon, and meet on a Saturday night,  that can mean just about anything.  Jeans, shorts, sandals, t-shirts, dresses, khakis, hats, paintball gear… Just wear what is comfortable for you, and you’ll fit right in.
What Happens With the Kids?

Nursery:

Our nursery is for children Birth to 2 years old.  It is clean, comfortable, well staffed and well stocked,  As you enter the lobby, follow the hall to the right and you will find the nursery at the end of the hall.  You may utilize the nursery before or at any time during the service.

Children 3 years and older

It is one of our values that young kids get to participate in our musical worship.   We want them to see adults engaged in intimacy with God.  As such, our kids are in the main service until after announcements.  There will be a brief break in which kids can be escorted to their appropriate learning area and checked in by a parent, or they may stay in the service with a parent or guardian.

3 Year-Olds
– Kindergarten meets on the main floor, down the hall on the right side of the sanctuary.

1st – 8th graders
– meet downstairs in age appropriate rooms

Teens

On Saturday nights, youth remain in the Sanctuary with the adults.  Many of our youth serve in different areas during the service; running sound, volunteering on the tech team, and playing in the worship band.

Teenagers Grades 6-8 can attend Wyldlife, every other Saturday night.
